In April 2014, at a car show in Beijing, the Chinese company FAW rolled out to the public a subcompact SUV, which was named "Xiali T012". In October of the same year, the car went on sale in the Chinese market, but under a new name - "Junpai D60" ... and in the "near" future its sales should begin on the territory of Russia.

The Chinese crossover has a bright and interesting appearance that makes you catch your eye. The most noticeable elements in the exterior design are menacingly squinting headlights, taillights elongated in a horizontal plane and original stampings on the sidewalls, adding grace to the five-door look. The "off-road" essence of the car is expressed by overlays made of unpainted plastic along the perimeter of the body.

In terms of its overall dimensions, Junpai D60 is a typical representative of the mini-SUV class: 4170 mm in length, 1625 mm in height and 1765 mm in width. The distance between the front and rear "axles" in the crossover is allocated 2557 mm, and the ground clearance in the equipped position is 181 mm.

The interior of the SUV looks less bright than the exterior - everything inside is quite unremarkable and everyday, and this is especially true for the simple instrument cluster with blue backlighting, which in turn is located behind the modern steering wheel. The center console "a la BMW" is turned towards the driver, but otherwise the similarities end - a 7-inch display of the multimedia center and three "washers" of the air conditioner. Finishing materials are generally budgetary, the build quality is only at an acceptable level.

In front of the FAW Junpai D60, amorphous seats are installed with a weakly pronounced profile, but with the necessary adjustment ranges. The rear sofa has a flat layout and is formally designed for three riders, but more or less freely can accommodate only two - the stock of legroom is limited.

In the stowed state, the volume of the cargo compartment of the Chinese SUV is about 400 liters, however, due to the asymmetrical parts of the back of the "gallery", the capacity can be significantly increased.

Under the raised floor is a compact spare wheel and a set of tools.

Specifications. In the Russian market, Junpai D60 will be offered with an uncontested unit - a 1.5-liter gasoline "aspirated" with a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and multi-point injection will be installed under the hood of the car, which develops a maximum of 102 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque.

The engine is connected to five-speed gearboxes - "mechanics" or "automatic", which direct all potential to the drive wheels of the front axle. The Chinese SUV, weighing at least 1206 kg in running order, is capable of accelerating up to 168 km / h, while “eating” 6.5 liters of fuel in a combined mode (other characteristics are not yet known).

The FAV Junpai D60 crossover is based on a front-wheel drive chassis with independent suspension based on MacPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent structure with a torsion beam at the rear. Disc brakes on all wheels (front ones - with ventilation), and the steering system is aggregated with an electric booster.

Options and prices. At home, the "Chinese" has been on sale since October 2014 at prices ranging from 64,900 to 99,900 yuan.

As standard equipment, it is equipped with: a pair of airbags for front riders, multi-steering wheel, ABS, Brake Assist, EBD, four power windows, air conditioning, 16-inch rims, "music" with four speakers and fabric trim.

There is no exact date of arrival of "Junpai D60" on the Russian market (it is expected that this will happen in the first half of 2018), as there is no information about its possible cost. But if you consider that competing "Junpayu"
will have to deal with Changan CS35 and Ford EcoSport, it is likely that the "price tag" for it will start from about 750,000 - 900,000 rubles.
