Land Rover Discovery SVX is a special version of a premium full-size SUV, developed by the efforts of specialists from the SVO (Special Vehicle Operations) division ...

The three-letter abbreviation with the letter "X" at the end indicates extreme and adventure - the car is addressed primarily to off-road lovers who are looking for special locations and sensations ...

The official debut of the British "rogue", built on the basis of the fifth generation "Discovery", took place on September 12, 2017 (at the International Frankfurt Auto Show) - it became the first Land Rover representative to receive the SVX badge.

The five-door received an increased ground clearance, a 525 horsepower gasoline "eight", "toothy" tires and other improvements.

Outside, Land Rover Discovery SVX significantly differs from the standard "brother" - it can be identified by re-cut bumpers with silver protective inserts and orange towing eyes, two LED "chandeliers" and roof rails, as well as huge forged wheels measuring 20 inches with off-road tires Goodyear Wrangler ...

The "extreme" Land Rover Discovery measures 4970 mm long, 2073 mm wide, and has a wheelbase of 2923 mm. This modification has "increased clearance" (in fact, it is variable - due to the air suspension, and in its "standard position" the distance to the "lowest" point of the bottom is 8.6 ″ or ~ 21.8 cm).

When equipped, the SUV weighs 2,516 kg, and its gross weight does not exceed 3,240 kg.

Inside, the Discovery SVX stands out from the civilian model with its Lunar and Light Oyster seat trims with X-perforations and SVX embossing, orange accents and an automatic joystick instead of a swivel washer.

Otherwise, it is all the same attractive, solid and modern interior decoration, which is cut from expensive finishing materials, with a five- or seven-seat layout.

The luggage compartment is the same as that of a regular Discovery - from 258 to 2500 liters.

Under the hood of the Land Rover Discover SVX is a 5.0 liter V8 petrol engine with an Eaton supercharger, 32-valve timing, direct feed system and variable valve timing at the inlet and outlet, which produces 525 horsepower at 6000-6500 rpm and 625 Nm of available torque at 3500-4000 rpm.

It is installed in conjunction with an 8-speed "automatic" and all-wheel drive transmission with an active center differential, a reduction gear and an electronically locked rear differential, as well as an improved off-road assistant Terrain Response 2.

From a place to the first "hundred" the car "shoots" after 5.3 seconds, and the maximum is capable of accelerating to 161 km / h.

The five-door can overcome fords with a hard bottom up to 950 mm deep, and the angles of entry, ramp and exit are 38, 29 and 35 degrees, respectively.

At the heart of the Land Rover Discovery SVX is an aluminum "bogie" with a monocoque body, the structure of which is 85% "winged" metal.

The SUV is equipped with independent air suspension of both axles (front - double-lever, rear - multi-link) and an active hydraulic roll suppression system called H-ARC.

The car is equipped with an electric power steering with a variable gear ratio and brake discs with ventilation "in a circle", complemented by a huge number of electronic "bells and whistles".

Commercial production of Land Rover Discovery SVX will be launched in 2018, at the same time its sales will begin in the Old World (it is not yet known whether the SUV will reach the Russian market).
Already in the "base" the car will receive: eight airbags, a multimedia system, 20-inch wheels with special tires, ABS, ESP, air suspension, dual-zone "climate", the H-ARC system and a bunch of other equipment.
