At the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 20, 2015, the Chinese-Israeli brand Qoros unveiled its new crossover, the 5 SUV, which became the second representative of the "off-road family" in the company's lineup. But the preview of the car took place a month before the world premiere at Milan Fashion Week. For buyers, although initially only Chinese, the five-door will become available in March 2016, and in the second half of this year it may appear on the Russian market.

The Qoros 5 SUV looks catchy, fashionable and sporty, but in its front end there is a frank resemblance to the Range Rover Evoque - this is especially noticeable in the architecture and graphics of menacingly frowned headlights hanging over the embossed bumper. But from other angles, the car is more original - a dynamic silhouette with a dropping roof and "muscular" wings and an athletic stern with graceful lanterns and a powerful bumper showing two exhaust pipes.

The overall length of the five-door SUV is 4587 mm, the height is 1676 mm, the width is 1878 mm, the gap between the wheelsets is 2697 mm. The "belly" of the equipped car is separated from the roadway by a 180 mm clearance.

The interior of Qoros 5 SUV is designed in the "family" style of the brand and stands out for its minimalism, verified ergonomics and solid finishing materials. Behind the three-spoke steering wheel, slightly cropped from below, is a modern instrument panel with original dials and a 3.5-inch trip computer display.

The nicely arranged center console is “filled” with an 8-inch “tablet” of the infotainment complex and a modern “remote control” for the air conditioner (in the basic versions - a simpler air conditioner).

The front seats of the Chinese crossover are correctly profiled and endowed with a set of adjustments in various directions, and the rear sofa demonstrates ergonomic proportions and a proper amount of free space on all fronts.

In addition, Qoros 5 SUV has a convenient luggage compartment, although its volume is still unknown.

Specifications. In the engine compartment of the car, a 1.6-liter (1598 cubic centimeters) gasoline engine is registered, which has turbocharging, distributed fuel injection, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and variable valve timing. In the bins of the power plant there are 156 "horses" at 5500 rpm and 210 Nm of peak capabilities at 1750-5000 rpm.
The entire reserve of torque is directed to the wheels of the front axle through 6-speed gearboxes - "mechanics" or "robot" with two clutches.

How fast and economical the "Chinese" is is not reported yet.

Under the monocoque body of the Qoros 5 SUV, there is a modular front-wheel drive "bogie" with a transversely mounted engine, familiar from the rest of the brand's models. The front wheels of the SUV are suspended by means of independent suspension with McPherson struts, but on its rear axle a semi-independent architecture with a twisting beam is involved.
The steering on the car is rack and pinion with an electromechanical booster, and disc brakes on all wheels are 305 mm ventilated at the front and 285 mm at the rear.

Options and prices. In the Celestial Empire, the official implementation of Qoros 5 will start in March 2016, and in a few months it will most likely appear on the Russian market as well. At home, the car is estimated at between 150,000 and 220,000 yuan (~ 1,740,000 - 2,550,000 rubles at the exchange rate at the beginning of 2016).
By default, it “flaunts” front airbags, air conditioning, a multimedia complex with an 8-inch screen, “music” with four speakers, ABS, power windows for all doors, heated front seats and much more.
