The first generation Honda Odyssey minivan debuted in 1994, after which it began to develop the Japanese and North American markets, and subsequently reached other countries. In the winter of 1998, the car underwent a minor update, trying on the results of slight visual changes and receiving certain technical improvements, and was mass-produced until 1999.

The "Odyssey" of the original incarnation is a one-box with a five-door body solution and a six- or seven-seat layout of the interior decoration.

The length of the machine is 4750 mm, and its width and height fit into 1770 mm and 1540 mm, respectively. Between the axles of the "Japanese" there is a gap of 2830 mm in length, and a gap of 155 mm is visible under the bottom. In the "combat" state, the car weighs from 1500 to 1610 kg, depending on the modification.

Specifications. Under the hood of the first "release" of the Honda Odyssey, only gasoline engines were located - the single-volume was completed with in-line four-cylinder and V-shaped six-cylinder "aspirated" 2.2-3.0 liters with distributed fuel injection, producing 145-200 horsepower and 196-265 Nm of torque.
The motors were combined with an automatic four-range gearbox and two types of drive - front or full with automatic front axle connection.

"Odyssey" of the original generation is based on the front-wheel drive platform of the 5th generation Honda Accord, which implies a transverse power plant. The suspension of the car is completely independent - front and rear there is a structure on double levers with classic springs and shock absorbers.
"In a circle" the one-volume "flaunts" disc brake center devices (ventilated in the front) with ABS, its "pinion-rack" steering system is equipped with a hydraulic control booster.

The “first” Odyssey is distinguished by its spacious interior with great transformation possibilities, energy-intensive suspension, perfected handling, good equipment, powerful propulsion systems, reliable design and other advantages.
But there is also something to scold the car for - the high cost of maintenance, high fuel consumption and poor soundproofing of the cabin.
